The box does have short term memory, that is if you are in a hurry and using Kick down, then the engine ECU talks to the gearbox ECU and it will be ready for faster changes
Its quite docile at the same time, if you hit a 40 mph zone it will revert to leisurely changes.
Once you turn the engine off you are back to square one
