I Didnt have the DIPSTICK to check the oil. OR the cap to put back on.

I have built many rally cars from bare shell, motorcycle engines, car engines.

So im hoping i can tackle this?

I will scan in all pages from magazine, its well worth a look for anyone trying this!

Hi thought that you must have some mechanical skills as you have obtained the codes some how. you can remove the DIPSTICK cap easily with out damaging it if you just push a small dia pin in the slot hole in the top of it you will push the orange flat peg out of the bottom of the cap (off centre hole) you don’t need to remove it just push it down about 20 mm the cap will come off with a tug then pull the tag out from the bottom the just posh it back in from the top when you refit it, you can make a dip stick there is a thread about it. "Rally cars, motorcycle engines, car engines" think you should manage this job; I will post the numbers etc

Just grap hold of the cap and pull it, it will come off without breaking the tab!

Ok, nothing comes to mind really, make sure you don't over tighten the 7mm pilot bust, 7NM only! they can snap! apart from that is nuts and bolts!

I have since spoken to your contact for the job, he only wants £60 labour. Hardly worth me even trying it!

Only thing is its a long drive! But he said there is a nice pub near by :D

Conductor plate needs throwing away, as richard said above!

hi, I am trying to get my car fixed, it has the same problem:
codes:
013 speed sensor
109 speed sensor

drives ok when you star it and after few miles goes into limp mode.

You have said that conductor plate needs trowing away, just wondering is that the one at the gear change knob or is it in the g/b itself?
and would you know part nr for it?

thanks

Hi all

Firstly, congrats on a great site -everyone seems so friendly and helpful :D

Im posting on behalf of my hubby who is neither computer nor (it would appear) car savvy;)

We have pretty much the same problem as the OP, car sometimes didnt change gears but a stop/restart fixed the problem. Yesterday, that trick stopped working.

Hubby has studied all your helpful hints on here and is off trying some of them out. If those fail, could anyone suggest a garage/diagnostic provider in my area? Im in Kilsyth, North Lanarkshire - Scotland.

Thanks in advance!

I always try to reply to these threads even though its old as I know many people may find it in the future and use the info.

My car cost £600+ to take to Shaun and it still locked in!

Phoned him and he said I need a new gearbox now!!!!

Shame he didnt tell me this before i spent £600.............
