I own a 1999 ML270 automatic - 90,000. When teh engine is at normal operating temperature if switched off and left for five minutes or so, will start but after a second or two stop and then be diffciult to start for several minutes. If however I hold the throttle down whilst starting there seems to be no problems. When started it runs like a dream. No problems starting from cold.
I have had a new immobiliser fitted some months ago and a new crank shaft locator sensor.
I read that the seals on the fuel pipe were a likely suspect for the poor starting so I had the fuel pipes replaced but the problem still persists.
Can any one suggest what else could be the cause?
