Hi guys, had an interesting talk with a customer tonight,
If he puts his ml 270 into drive on a steep!! hill, it rolls back until you start putting revs on to pull away, Sounds a bit strange to me that dose.
He has also only noticed it since the dealers recond his box, but also has only had the car for a few months,so wasn't sure if it was like it before. Went back to the stealers and they have informed him that this is the normal???Is there anyone out there can second this? i personly think its a pressure related fault, any other ideas:?: Thanks;)

Most cars will roll back in S but they cannot in W due to the spag clutch

At idle the torque converter isn't spinning fast enough to fully lock up so I'd guess it stands to reason that the car would roll back.

Mine does

on steep hills it rolls back

on gradual slopes it creeps forward

and on that one hill at the T junction on Somerton road where it joins Chepstow road... yes, the one just outside the takeaway ... it'll stand still.
