Where the intercooler hose meets the EGR valve, it has a fitted metal sleeve with a couple of 'lumps' to locate it with a clip, and (in theory) a rubber seal.
How tight a fit should this hose be into the EGR? The retaining lumps on mine appear to be nearly non existent and its possible to move the hose around by hand in the EGR inlet although it is secured. Should this be airtight? Have a suspicion that it probably isn't great.
No major issues with power loss although I've had the 270 a year and it may well have been like this the whole time, so no real basis for comparison. It picks up and revs fine, and seems to pull well.
Worth replacing just in case?
cheers
Steve

It should be a fairly snug fit, but not interference fit, thats why it has a seal. If you have no power loss issues, then no problem. However those lugs can wear away after a while and the the hose can blow out under load. Seen that a good few hundred times. The hose is about £70, so if you're worried about a potential problem, its not a bank breaker to do.

Cheers, the lugs are bad enough that the hose isn't pulled in tight, so will get another before it gives up completely. A shame because the hose itself is in good condition.
