Hi everybody

Yesterday as I turned the key to start the engine in my ML320, the alarm started, , (apart from Alarm, the petrol indicator start to shake up and down!!!)

Tried all of these with no joy

-Locking , Unlocking the car for 50 times,
-disconnecting the battery, (alarm started as I disconnect it!!)

I have got two remote key and both are the same(Lock and Unlock but not starting)

Any idea would be highly appreciated
Many thanks
Mike

Have you checked the battery voltage is it flat?
Also when you try to crank over do you get a message in the dash display saying something like start error/ s error/ error can't remenber how it reads but something along these lines.

If you have a multi meter you can check the battery with the voltmeter should be approx 12.5v.

If no meter available just try and jump start it. if it goes then u know the battery waas flat.

No, as I turn the key alarm start to siren rather than the engine, and it goes off after 30 seconds

difficult to say
ML can suffer from a broken earth strap from the chassis to the engine.
this is under the car and you have to remove the undertray to check.
if you have 2 sets of jump leads connect one black lead to the battery earth and the other to a good earth point on the engine you might have to remove the engine cover. this in effect will be the subsitute earth strap that may be broken. Then try and jump start the car as normal with the other set. Don't forget to lock/unlock the car with the remote to turn off the alarm.
