ML350 2010 Initially wouldn't start then dash lights stopped coming on.

Hello, I'm Stuart. I live in Suffolk, England. I drove the car briefly on Wednesday evening. The next morning my wife needed to get to an appointment, but she wanted to know how much diesel was in the car, I turned the key and saw there was ¼ tank of fuel. She then sat in the car and turned the key and it wouldn't start, just a clunk sound. Initially thought it was the battery. I checked the voltage on the battery and it was 12.6V. After several more attempts to start it, the dash lights stopped coming on and there's no more sound when turning the key.

I checked all the fuses and the battery terminals and have run out of ideas.

Any thoughts please?

Yes, it's the first time. Are you referring to the EIS?

I think if the lights stops coming in it’s an ESL issue.

Try giving this reputable bunch a ring, they do travel.

ML's don't have an ESL, as they use the ISM and colum shift as part of drive authorisation.

Starter motor or EIS is most likely.
