Hi all,

Bought an used w211 e-class 270 cdi recently, and have noticed that there is some kind of mobile phone cradle.

Thing is, it doesnt look like is ready to take a phone?

Ive attached some pics, if anyone know what this is, or what i have to do to get a mobile connected to the car for handsfree use i would be very grateful.

Thanks,

Digisatman

No idea what that cradle is for. There don't appear to be any connections and the shape of the base is very odd too. There appears to be 2 different colour pieces. The bottom one isn't some form of connector cover is it? Have you tried pulling it up?

Anyway, I'd start by tracing the wiring. Hopefully you will come to a control box of some description which should shed some more light. Then, assuming it is a phone, the connections for power, arial, mike etc should be similar no matter what kit you have so I'd swap for a parrot or nokia type kit. I'd also consider replacing the ugly mount with a proper pod. They look 100 times better and hold the cradle more solidly.

Is a THB Take and Talk cradle. Is a generic cradle that you can buy adaptor for most mobile phones (they cost about £45), should have the mic somewhere near your rear view mirror and the speaker either in a footwell or it's set up to run through the stereo speakers.

Should be that you just need to buy the cradle specific for your phone, here's a good place to try:http://www.avrmobiles.co.uk/thb_bury_uni_take_talk_cradles.html

If you need more info pm me or reply.

Yep it's a THB Bury kit all you need now is the holder for your phone. Word of warning the steering remote controls will not operate this kit (e.g. to answer / hang up).

For cradles and more information on THB Bury look at www.bury.com
