Is it the clip under the fuel pump you are having difficulty with?

presumably cant get the pipe to unclip

struggling all the way because i'm a big lad with big hands and there are only little gaps

A long thin screwdriver will unclip these pipes with ease.

Go and make a cuppa and stand back from it for a while and then re-tackle it later.

Thats right you can't.

But you can feel it with a screwdriver.

I cut the old pipe out and managed to fit the new pipe , but the clip broke on one of the fittings in the process of routing it

so back to square 1

I wouldnt worry about the clip, put the pipe back on and just make sure the pipe doesnt get in the way of the belt. Thats it.

no the clip that holds the fuel line in place, the connector , i'll try and repair it today , or i'll have to fit a complete new pipe
