Mobile STAR

Hi guys,

some time ago one of the forum members was helpful enough to post the name of a mobile STAR MB fitter who would do driveway work in and around the Midlands area.

Can someone please point the way to his name & contact details for me, please?

Not heard of this one, but I could do STAR read outs if I get to moving up that way, then I could buy a new S class 2 door

Coventry MB have one for sale, metallic white, 6k miles on the clock Malcolm. Only £86k.

I forget whom was metioning it a few weeks ago, an MB fitter in a van, does all his work on your driveway, STAR equipped laptop etc. I don't know if I need it yet but I've suffered a minor setback. Watch this space :S

I had high hopes, but a quick call shows otherwise- he doesn't have STAR. No matter though and thank you for the steer.

I use this guy he covers Solihull and Warwickshire, an ex Patrick Motors MB tech. He's got diagnostics but not sure if it's STAR.

A decent guy, he's done a couple of satisfactory jobs for me and reasonably priced.

Best to contact him by mobile rather than through his web site.

Jib, the car is nowhere near you currently (over in Coventry) and just needs a rodeo. Thank you for your very kind offer though. No major rush, I'm going to seek out some of Bedfordshire's bumpier roads next week (can't see that being difficult )

Bob, thank you very much (and indeed everyone here) for your reply- I wish you'd said so (or I'd read it!) 2 hours earlier! I've had to make some other arrangements now unfortunately.

I'm going to pick the car up shortly and take it for a lot of driving round the bumpiest roads that I can find. That should shift any air in the system out, which I think is the only thing that can be the problem.

However... if I have any problems I'll give you a buzz, so watch this space!

If you are near Coventry, you do know Jay (Mercland) is up the road in Nuneaton and his techs have much more knowledge of STAR and Mercedes than I do.

Have you tried telling the car it has no Comand, you may have to shout at it
