This car has been transformed into an AMG V8 automatic.
    Modifications include -
    5.5 V8 engine + autobox
    Brakes
    Suspension
    Power steering
    Dashboard
    Door cards
Seats 2 tone black & grey leather
    Alloys
    Elec windows
    Central locking
    New discrete roll cage
    New period spotlamps
    New bumpers
Parts came from a 1999 E55 AMG which I also have the log book for.
Just had a service, new battery, window wiring sorted, new electronic throttle linkage and other small jobs all done by local Merc specialist Klasse Automotive, East Calder, Scotland.
The bodyshell is 54 years old, a few dents but overall rust free. Needless to say it's quite fast and looks the business. A pleasure to drive and a total crowd puller.
Certainly not a car for a Mercedes purist.
Friends of mine have several names for it including Mafia Staff Car, Gestapo Car and Von Ryans Express. May swop or px an automatic SL or SLK, no junk please. Car is in Livingston.

An old lady crashed into me today. Car is no longer for sale due to the fact it's probably a write off. She admitted full liability to the police and her insurer. I'm totally gutted.

Not saying it’s not, just interested in what kind of policy you had to cover the modified car and was it agreed value or the like?

Hi Bc. I have recently been offered by a chap in Wakefield a 2004 (M9 XXB) Silver E500 Automatic Saloon with 98,000 miles on board as a swap for my 2004 (53 plate) R170 Facelift SLK 230 Automatic !!

I would be too - but no doubt someone will be able to resurrect it, given enough skill and parts availability.
