Previously had an R170 but sold that last year and am now looking an R171 for the wife. problem is sellers seem to think that they are collectable and are asking (in some cases) more than a grand over CAP retail.
This chip shortage brings out the shyster in everyone doesn't it?

We have had a 170, 171 and now a 172, according to my local Indy the 172 has been the best SLK Mercedes have produced so far. Both previous SLK's were brilliant cars and never really had any bother with them, fingers crossed for the new 172
During the 170 we had a new MAF sensor, top up of transmission oil and a new traction control sensor over 30,000 miles
The 171 just brake discs and pads 18,000 miles in her.

Oh yeah, when I (re)joined? I mentioned I was looking for an SLK for the wife, but there has been a bit of a left turn and thought I'd leave it for a while seeing as the used car job is nuts at the moment, but bought the good lady this as a winter runaround....
Diesel Auto C220, almost full history, 12 months MOT, heated electric seats (drivers with memory for seat , mirrors and steering wheel), climate, cd changer, Nav (head unit n/w atm), front and rear sensors, glass sunroof, folding mirrors etc. Up on miles but little or no rust.
