ha had a squeak in the rear w203 after redoing backplate and it was more like a bed spring in a comedy film . went away in the wet ,back in the dry and could be heard 40 foot away cant find it so sprayed all joints and did not go , blow it lok later ,then it went on and off really annoying , found it rose bush / thorn in my side

whatever rocks your boat to the OP must be cheesy up there!
Back on track, spraying rubbers that are failed with oil does nothing, as you see when they are wet it goes and when dry returns. get the car up and inspect all the rubbers for damage and play in the links.

The variations of said practice are somewhat extraordinary

If the car suspension is in good condition i would purchase a few tins of silicon spray and take to you nearest garage and ask if its possible you could use the 4 poster to inspect and spray all of your rubber bushes , and also every rubber item you can see . My squeak never cam back again after this treatment .
