I read lots about Ipod kits etc, but since I hate them (!) is there any device/way to connect a more generic MP3 player - i.e. present me with a 3.5 mm plug? I have an Audio 10 cassette player - no CD player (that I have found anyway!!)
IF not, then I assume I can change the head unit fairly easily (as I might opt for a blutooth unit for the phone)
Thanks

That would be nice, but unfortunately not - hence wondering if I can connect some other way.
There is a nice CD holder though in the Glovebox, which seems odd for a car with no CD player - unless its a standard thing?

Give me a little time as I have all of the diagrams for the Audio 10 and I will see if it is possible,,it should be if they are made to take a CD changer,,its the D2b that could be the problem

dad has a c220 cdi, 2001, and i believe it has an audio10 radio cassette and a cd autochanger. the autochanger is in the top of the glovebox, so obviously id guess would be a good place to see if theres any wiring there that could be used for the conversion

Strange - The CD changer doesn't look like a CD storage bin in the Glovebox does it?
I was led to believe the car had a CD changer and was dissapointed to find it doesn't - however there is a 6 CD holder thing in the top of the glovebox - thats not what you 'think' is a CD changer aswell it is - as in my case - it isn't. Just has slide out drawers to store CDs in.

However, that means the Audio 10 must have a CD changer in - and for Audi there was an adaptor you can buy to pluginto the changer port and it presented you with a 3.5mm plug for whatever you wanted to plug in.
Must be something similar for these? - I haven't removed the radio to look on the back yet but I am assuming there is no Aux port or anything handy..
