This MP3 Player replaces your CD changer using the existing cable that connects to the changer in the boot, on COMAND 2.5/2.0 ... Any comments folks?

This would suit me with COMAND 2.5 and 6 CD changer in the boot and the ability to use via steering wheel " Easy handling through steering wheel controls or direct access through the buttons on your Radio and Navigation device" If its as good as it says I guess these expensive players will be redundant

It's certainly interesting if only because you could control it from COMAND. However I doubt you will see MP3 tags in the COMAND display and you are still subject to the memory limitations of memory cards, currently 8GB IIRC.

I use a DVD/MP3 player and can fit 40GB of MP3 files on a DVD-ROM

The limit seems like 4x4 cards ,16 Gig, or aprox. 4000 songs :D

I dont think I know more than 1000 songs I would like to listen too. :)

It would be great for us with older cars , and the ability to use via Comand and steering wheel is a bonus. Also just unplugging the cd changer in the boot and plugging in the MP40 player could not be easier

Would this work in your car Malcolm?

Yes Chas it would,,and interesting to me,,I do not like more than 2 current songs, and I live in with the music of the 70's /80's that my kids weaned me on.

Sadly I have no access to the CD changer, unless I extend the d2b link and see if it will include it, but I know there is a limit as to how many things you can have on this bus.

I have the TV,CD,Phone and Bose on the optic cable,,I will do some more checking. If this will work included then there is room in the box.

I wonder if it is possible to add it to the bus, so you can keep the CD-Changer?

I have over 500 GB of music on my hard drive, from Classical to Lounge and like the option to listen to any combination I choose.

I read the info and it says that you can, I know that your car is fully loaded like mine, just have this thing in the back of my mind that I saw somewhere that there is a max number of units that you can have in the loop. Now where did I read that possibly the MB training programs

I don't have Linguatronic, so assume that's one free slot on my fibre optic ring?

That is not on the loop, it is just the phone,CD changer TV and Bose, though on second thought the retro digi tuner is on that loop, so may be I am wrong

If you retained the CD player, what menu item would you use to switch it into play? All I have free is the Phone button

Or would it just add an additional 4 CD slots to the cd section?

I cant answer that yet, I do not know what it would come up as,good point though as I have no spare buttons,,would I really need the CD changer any more,I do not think so, and in my car it could go in place of it as its under the rear box behind my seats.

Thanks Mark for pointing that out:D

How do you remove the CD changer in the boot of an S CLASS W220?

It is held in by a bracket, but I cant see how it is bolted in. Two screws are obvious but the bracket is still not coming out!!

thanks

I will take a look Chas
