before I go off on a tangent with the supplying dealer, my new SL has the above seats (no airflow though :() but none of the adjuster buttons (cushions, massage etc) seem to do anything other than incite a faint click from somewhere behind so I guess a relay.

Now, the good news is it had a new PSE pump fitted just before I got it (the better news is the boot & foam block are 100% bone dry :D:D)

I seem to remember reading that the PSE is plug and play but it does need to be told if these seats are fitted, otherwise the buttons achieve not a lot.

Anyone able to confirm please?

Thanks in advance

Hello D, I drove two E63's last Thursday and the info below is E Class related, however:

There are two seat options:

409 Multi Contour Seats
432 Dynamic Multi Contour Seats

432 is twice the option cost of 409.

Dynamic has the massage function.

Do you know which you have?

No :D

The datacard lists "404" & "405" (left & right) - it's got the same controls as the last two SLs where you can adjust about three sets of cushions + side supports & massage

404 and 405 was what I had, so not dynamic but all the rest.

My guess is that the pump had not been coded, I bought mine at 16k miles and my pump had never been coded.

In the event of a fault in a seat, the pump will try 3 times and then switch the function off if there is a fault

What's "dynamic" got on top of what I have ?

just looked it up - seems it will inflate the side depending on driving "style" to keep you in place. I find the door provides this function pretty well ;)

The dynamic bit inflates the sides of the back rest to keep you still on fast bends, so on a winding road you have one side or the other blowing up and going down again, I have it but I do not like it maybe I am not driving fast enough ;)

I like it (as a passenger) - it's like having a pair of firm (but gentle) hands keeping you where you're supposed to be. :D

With a bit of imagination . . . . .

Just for the record, 2 minutes at the dealer this morning, I now have all seat functions enabled.

I have no doubt of that, however I had to balance out the time taken to drive to Harrogate as opposed to the West Country !!
