HELP!!
02 C180 Classic Estate. The amber bulb has gone out on multi-function display. When you shine a strong torch onto display, you can see it is still working. Also, warning displays that display in red still come up no problem.
Therefore, how big a job (in time and money) is it to replace the bulb or.......am I barking up the wrong electronic fault tree??!!

Hello and welcome to the forum, it will only be a bulb gone. the instrument cluster pushes out from the rear or it can be pulled with the special tools, many MB garages will pull it out for you, then you just have to replace the bulb

Thanks!

Malcolm,

thanks for putting my mind at rest, I had a nagging fear that this was going to be a mortgage job, all to replace a 10p bulb!

Polly why not ask an indie to pull it out for you, much cheaper alternative where is the biggest town to you

Malcolm

Nearest towns are Darlington, Ripon, Northallerton etc. Nearest big cities are Newcastle and York. There is a MB Service garage in Bedale. I have e-mailed them and asked for a quote.
