Crank shaft sensor is the number one fault when engines just stop.

They can be measured and the should read 1k ohm when good

The pump only runs for a few seconds with the relay plugged in, and all of the time when bridged

of course the pump is going to keep running when bridged, complete reverse operation of the relay. relay requires a signal from another device. all this has proved is that the fuel pump is making a noise.

you can open up the relay & clean the contact points if needed if it works best get a new one & keep the old one for a spare .i keep both f-pump & ovp relays in my car as spares

This is not his problem as the car would have started if bridged and the relay was the fault. I still think the CPS is the problem

the engine turn's over well, but not trying to fire up.it's 'auto'

On forums we work on the most common faults and fixes and the CPS is the highest on the list for this fault.

how can i check the CPS ?

With a simple ohm meter,,it should read around 1K ohm when good and very high when faulty
