Hi everyone,

Am looking to buy my first MB and my first convertible. I've narrowed it down to the CLK 320 and have spent the last week test driving every model I can find in autotrader within my budget in the past 3 days. Some dealers are so dodgy! But I found one that is in immaculate condition, with about 70k miles (2002 reg). Previous female owner drove about 5K in the last 2 years and it's so well maintained it looks brand new!

My only concern is that the car squeaks when it goes over bumps - I can't really tell where it's coming from, but it was quiet with the top up and then was really audible with the top down.

This is by far the best car I've seen in terms of quality / price so million dollar question: should I worry about the squeaks or just buy it and live with it?? I've searched all over the forum, and it seems that squeaks are quite common for the CLK.

Would appreciate anyone with advice! I am dying to just handover the money so that I can drive off with it!!!

Should I call the merc specialist garage that did the last service to ask them about it?

The squeaks going over bumps could be that the rubber bushes on the suspension need treating with PTFE or Silicon I would not let that put me off.

Do look hard at the inside edge of the rear wheel arches for rust, and welcome to the forum

Hello and welcome......squeaks.....I think you need to be more specific but in all probability nothing serious nor expensive......no car of nine years is likely to be PERFECT......it seems to me that you could have found a good one.
