i have a 300e 24v 1991 and for some unknown reason last week they didnt work i then replace the fuse which had blown, the second i turned them on again they blew yet again, with this i disconected all indicator bulbs, turned on indictors lever they never blew, i then one by one put all bulbs back in until the found the problem the drivers front bulb i changed this bulb for a new one, i thought the problem was solved but low and behold the second i lifted the arm to use the indicators the fuse blew again i am now driving the car but have disconected the front drivers indicator and the rest seem ok, but then when i left the arm up the left indicators work fine and the noise is as normal a nice steady tick, tick , tick, but when i push the arm down to turn right the noise is really fast (erractic) and so is the drivers back left indicaor (flashing really fast) can anybody help me or has this happened to anybody before, and laos is it worth looking at the realys or is that my next job

any help

thanx again

The speedy flash and relay ticking are due to the current not being "shared equally" I think. Its a built-in warning that something is amiss.

Why you have a consistently blowing fuse for one bulb proberly down to excessive load ie wiring problem with the drivers front indicator. I'd have a good luck and see if a wire is shorting the circuit. Maybe some exposed copper is touching metal.

Dicky ticking

It is normal for the indicators to flash quickly when a bulb blows or is removed as the resistance is halved. That is how you know a bulb has blown in your indicators.
It would seem that you have a straight through short circuit in the right hand front bulb holder. What appears to be happening is that the bulb casing is bypassing the bulb filament and causing the fuse to blow. The fuse is there to protect the wiring from burning out when this sort of thing happens. Check to see if there is any corrosion inside the bulb holder and if there is get it relaced.
You say when you put the indicator switch down(right turn) the rear left indicator flashes fast. Do you mean the rear right indicator flashes fast?
Please post back to clarify.

That's a bummer.
Sorry to hear you've got problems. I'm afraid I can't help with electronics, mine's a carb model without any of this new fangled computerised stuff.
Hope you fix it soon.
