my ml270 refuses to start. i put on new high and low pressure fuel pumps, and it started normally for a couple of days, but now it refuses to start. any ideas anyone??
does it turn over and not fire or does it not turn over
did you replace the seals on the plastic pipes when you did the pumps??
if not these can go brittle with age causing air to get in and the fuel in the lines to leak back to the tank, if this is tha case it will start but will have to be turben over for a while to pull the fuel back from the tank
Many faults can cause non start. Common faults ive found with the cdi engine are injectors, or fuel monitoring valve seals. The monitoring valve found at the rear of the common rail, can be removed and seals checked visually.if the green seals are split, engine will not start.(Note there is a white plastic bush which is not complete) . A simple test can be carried out to visually check injector leak off. remove the leak off pipe. Diconnect the camshaft position sensor plug. Get an assistant to crank the engine while you view the amount of diesel leaving the injector via the leak off port. if one or more injectors are leaking off excessively, this will also cause non start, (i appreciate this is not the best check but helps if no star machine available) steve
