I changed to a slightly bolder font which I thought stood out better than standard plates. ANPR at car parks could never get it right and prepaid parking at the airports involved having to stop and visit the office each time before exit. This time round just standard Halfords plates, no problems at all.

They're not that dissimilar from the type of plate fitted in the 70s ie a separate letter/number fitted to a plain plate

Bluemels did these in the 60's.
And they were chamfered, so I make that 5-D

What is the current trend with tinted plates?

I get the want to be unique etc, but I feel that doing this to my car would cause unnecessary attention from the police. IF they wanted a reason to pull you over and waste your time, they now have one (from personal experience with a mis spaced private plate, that was otherwise standard). I just don't feel its worth the hassle.

I’m trending towards pentalobular with the security tit :D
I used to just snap the tit out and a flat blade works... I have more security bits than I could shake a stick at. Latest ones Oval drive for my Jura Coffee Machine. I didn't even realise they were screw heads, I thought they were rivets when I first saw them.
With the right tools I can take most things apart (and put them back together again) :)

“Snapped the tit out of it”, that’s just become my new favourite expression!

I’m going to. I’ll define it as when any safety mechanism has been deliberately abused in order to force a result.

Excellent I’ll introduce this here now too, but expanding the definition to “ when any safety mechanism has been deliberately abused in order to force a result or forlornly hoped for answer to a safety mechanism question”
