Hi, I bought a merc s class 2001 cdi last week. just getting used to all the gadgets and the million buttons on the dash...

It got the option for Tv, but when i press it, it says " NO TV" same with the sat nav.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

I have had the same problems. I am looking forward to the TV answer - I have not got one fitted but as analogue is disappearing it will be money for a short period of enjoyment so have not bothered. The CD disks for the sat-nav make sure you get the right ones for the car if buying of ebay.

Fitting a tuner can be done,,if you want the works tuner, then the price is around £650 plus fitting, cars without the pre fitting kit are harder as they need the aerial amp changing that sits below the C pillar in the rear, this involves the removal of the front and rear seats down onside of the car.

You can fit a home 12 volt Digi tuner that you operate from a remote control in the dash,,you still need to have the aerial amp to make it work.

To check on the aerial amp,, Comand with code 352a needs an amp.
Comand with code 862 and 860 do not as the amp is fitted

My £30 digi install works well even in Sweden

I didnt have one either in my 1999 S320. I copied the one from my brothers S-Class and it worked fine. So I then went and bought one. There was an update first then it worked a treat. I then found out they are widely available to download illegally via Bit Torrent. Now I would never ever recommend doing this as it is completely illegal but it might work.

Mine has a TV button too but no TV either. But I am not confident or loaded enough to try installing one. Besides, how often would you sit in your car watching TV?
