As some of you maybe aware, I sold the G-Wagen 2 months ago after just under 2 years of ownership. The G Wagen was an itch I needed to scratch and I had a great time while owning it.

However the time has come to replace it with somthing less thirsty and somthing which is fun to drive :) (yes I know im still a bit wooden on camera) :D

Can't wait for pics etc. SL you will not be disappointed, my R231 SL500 is neck snapping fast, so AMG should be phenomenal!

Just watched your video, very nice colour combi, might be worth investing in the Smartroof add on, allows you to automate a few more items such as turning off the stop/Start, adjusting the wash wipe etc....

At that mileage make sure the transfluid has been changed along with plugs and you should be good....

Congratulations on the new SL63. I’m still enjoying mine after 16 months of ownership. I can see the attraction of a G, but not as a daily driver.

S500 (W222) 2014. Turbo 4.7 V8 with loads of toys. Superfast luxury.
Looks fantastic.

Just get rid of those locking wheel nuts before they seize on and risk damage to the wheels trying to undo them

Lovely car.

In the video you painted over the wheel mounting face (Under the blue line) This is not good, the wheel will not sit flat on the hub, the Hub and mounting face of the wheel should have been thoroughly wire brushed and be completely clean before applying Copper Slip to make sure the wheel sits perfectly flat on the hub

I agree with @S500 Pete about the locking bolts, they are useless anyway, normal bolts with black bolt covers will look much smarter in those wheels

Thanks for your replies, but it sits as much, if not more than before. - The paint is what, 10 microns thick? and the fact that the surface was rusty already would suggest it wasnt flat in the first place :)

6 months later and the hubs are identical/drier than before - I know this as I had to replace a flat recently during a rain storm :( and the inside of the hub was bone dry

Regarding the locking nuts, had them on all of my cars with no issues at all, I have also re-sprayed all the nuts since that video + re-applied more copper grease.

Had £2k per rear wheel, im not taking the risk (they are 20"s and the fronts are 19"s)

£2k per wheel, someone saw you coming!

A whole set of diamond cuts for my R231 (same size) were not much more...
