hi everyone

i currently have a 300e 24v 1991 w124, it has a/c which for sometime now has been dead, not a single bit of cold air. Ive heard many stories because of it being old most of unit needs to be replaced.

I would like like know can i get it regased cheaply and where

also in the meantime is there any way i can disconnect it and stop it using my cars power and petrol. (being automatic a/c) also i hope it will bring my rev count down when i 1st startt the car in the day

many thanks

I had similar problem when I bought my W124, A/C not working. Took it to an independant guy who found one of the fridge pipes (rubber) had been chaffing on the chasis which had made a hole in the pipe and I had lost all refrigerant.

He replaced the pipe and recharged the system for less than £120. That was a year ago and it still works perfectly. Try Yellow Pages or similar to find an independant local to you.

Probably be busy this time of year though........................

PS Mine is a 1991 230TE
