Please help..i've got tree sap all over my E class on the paint-work and rear glass..i just cannot get it off!!! the car is in Tansanite blue so its showing white streaks all over!!! How can i get the stuff off!!!
I would have a go with some stuff called Intensive Tar Remover from Autoglym. I have found this works wonders with anything sticky. Use some of this stuff and a soft cloth, dont use anything abrasive.
You should be able to get it from and motor factor. A word of warning though, dont use this in a confined space as you'll be as high as a kite.
Depending on how much you want to pay,you could get a auto valeter to do the job,I agree the auto glymm is a good product but it is hard work over a big area! A valeter will use a mop and they do do a good job!
Don't wait too long because the new water-based paints in use these days are very prone to permanent damage from squashed insects, bird droppings AND tree sap. I know from experience and this was only after a couple of days.
Thanks a lot guys. I have attempted to get the tree sap off by using very hot water..what a bad idea that was! It only helped to re-distribute the shape and position of the tree sap giving it more weird shapes ...I thought I could see the Mona Lisa for a minute there!! But I have now been told by a trusted Auto Valeter that all it takes is a d*amn
good steam wash and all should be clear. Booked for Tues. 24th...we'll see how it goes.
PS: By steam wash I don't mean your local Jet wash..I mean a REAL Auto Steam machine.
