Recently purchased E220 cdi 05'plate. Comand APS DVD was missing, tried some versions, but not loading onto COMAND system.
Will Version 4.1 only work with this model, or can I get later versions. Looking to buy DVD at good price. Please Advise???

you could have various problems here including:

you are trying to load a disc older than the last one used - on the whole you cannot load earlier disc's as the firmware is updated.

the disc you are trying to load is too big a jump from the last disc used - that firmware update again!

the comand itself has a problem, maybe dirty laser, try cleaning or maybe comand itself is knackered.

I assume here you are putting the navigation DVD into the drive in the boot and not the head unit here;

You can jump jump from 4.1 right up to V10 (current version). The problems with updates were for version 7 which required an update. This update was included on the V8 (and onwards) disks.

It is also possible to go back revisions (some of them) but why bother with that?

So provided you go for V8 or newer you should be fine. Make sure the disk is an original if looking on auction sites as the copies really dont work as well if at all.

Lastly make sure also the version you get is for the W211/W219 etc as there are some version numbers that match the disks for other ranges (eg V8 and V10) these disks are not interchangeable between the two ranges.
