Hello

As above, I have walk the dogs past a 190 in someones drive way for the last year, tonight I decided to knock on the door and ask if its for sale.
It is forsale, its a 1993 on K reg, pale blue metallic, cloth interior, 2.6 engine, auto, Lorensier alloys 16 inch, the paint work is mint no rust, the interior is mint, mileage is 150k.
the car is currently a none runner, something electrical the kind of faults I prefer.

He is asking £1000 for it, can anyone here advise me as to the kind of offer I should make, I thought £500 as a final price and no higher.

Hi Jib, these cars are rapidly approaching classic status and the 2.6 is quite sought after, obviously behind the 2.3-16 & 2.5-16.

They do tend to fare very well bodywork wise, better than many w124s I see.

Anyway, bearing all that in mind and that it sounds like it's a minter, maybe £500 is a little mean. Of course it being a non-runner, you take a bit of a gamble whatever you pay.

I sold my 190D for £850, and it certainly wasn't a minter (although it was absolutely solid, tatty interior though) and had plenty of interest.

Knock on his door with 700quid cash, and go to £750.

That car running with T&T would EASY make £1500, probably more.

Well the body and interior are mint, for a car thats done 150k miles the seats look as new. No evidence of any paint work and no rust.
190 will need disks and pads as it has stood for a year or more outside, handbrake is seized on. Electrical fault which wont allow the engine to fire up.
so brakes could cost £300 in parts, electrical problem could be expensive depending on whats needed, Ignition module ££££, dizzy cap, leads, plugs, air flow meter?, could put £500 worth of parts under the bonnet and still have a problem.

I will offer £500 for it and let him come back to me about it.
