Could I ask some of you to check out:

http://www.baxnet.net/merc

This is the beginning of a 140 DIY book, that Chiltons et.al. have shown interest in publishing. Never having written a book on a similar topic, I'd like all the criticism you can offer.

I have only published a few chapters on the website - to test the waters.

Namely, the presentation of the material. By using the book, will it help you achieve the task at hand?
Is it too complicated?
What about the layout? Keep you focused?
Is it explained well?

In your opinion, is there really a market for a book this "narrow" in scope - specifially for the 140, and specifically for DIY type of maintenance.

What's missing? Like to see chapters on electronics? Motor teardown? Tranny replacement etc?

Thanks in advance for your help - again all input appreciated. And many thanks to all of you that have already sent your comments.

Feel free to reply here, or email at merc@baxnet.net

The reason I left out parts diagrams and other MB procedures was that the sources I have are proprietary. In other words, I cannot reprint MB docs that belong to MB Corp. To make them up myself would be futile, as they change quite often, and I'm sure I'd never capture them all.

Thus the photo-talk approach. I figured if someone needed the parts info (which you're right - they will), then the DIY'er will just have to stop and look it up themselves from normal MB sources.

Hope that helps...
