The high pressure diesel pump on my c class 220cdi (203) started leaking. Have ordered new seals. Unfortunately, whilst stripping the unit some parts fell out. I'm now having problems deciding exactly where they should be fitted.
Link below is a photo showing small spring and shim that I'm not sure of.
can anyone help
Thanks

I've not seen that kind of spring in any exploded views of bosch pump (already posted in other thread). Only place I can think of, is 'inside' of the piston lower end, because you evidently have disassembled the 'crossed finger' (and usually that is presented as a one part) part http://i385.photobucket.com/albums/oo291/tkaald/DSC03061.jpg

pump spring

Hi, Thanks for your reply.

I realised that the easy way to see where the spring fitted was to open up another piston an look at how that is assembled. The spring fits inside a small cup that is located on the upper side of the plate that the top of the cylinder. The photo you supplied shows the opposite side of this plate.
I appreciate your help and think I'll be ok now Thanks
