Hello
New in this forum:???:
I have an old Mercedes 230 E, 1983 mod.
Last time I was driving, the speedometer suddenly falled to zero.
I am not sure if the cable is broken, or somthing else.
But how do I disassemble the cable??? I know it is tight with space under the dashboard.
Somebody who has good advice how to do this repair/cable-change?

I can't advise on the gearbox end but getting the cable off the back of the speedo is easy. Take off the lower panel below the steering wheel, put both your hands up behind the instrument cluster and push firmly. The cluster should come out, and you can then unscrew the cable by hand.
