Hi,

Hopefully, someone on here can help me. I have a W204 and a few days ago I ran an OBD on it and it showed that I have some problems with the car. I want to know which ones I can dismiss, and for the ones that are important - how do you solve them? I want to know so that when I go to a mechanic I know what the problem is and how to solve it. Here are the codes and some information that came up using the OBD:

P0089 - Powertrain - suction control valve stuck
P0183 - Powertrain - fuel temperature sensor A circuit high input
P0340 - Powertrain - camshaft position sensor A circuit (bank 1 or single sensor)
U0103
P200B
P2054
Powertrain – reductant injector circuit low bank 1 unit 2
P210A
P22E2

Thank you for reading the above, hopefully, you can help.

Kind regards,

L.

Unless you are experiencing an a fault, I wouldn’t worry about stored codes, we see many everyday which don’t come to nothing!!

Clear the codes and check again in a day or two

Today the power became weak and it was almost as if the engine was faltering. Plus, the engine warning light came on! I knew something was not right with the car for the last few days, hence the reason I attached the OBD. I will bring it to a mechanic, but I do not want them to do unnecessary work and charge me a fortune. If I go equipped with the knowledge of what needs to be done - at least then I can minimise my cost.

Many experienced mecahnics can become offended when a customer comes in with his code reader saying these are the faults and this is what to fix.

Reading codes and diagnosing the fault are two different things.

So a customer demands something is changed on his "knowledge", the mechanic knows its something else. Customer pays and problem not sorted, the mecahnic gets the flak.

Get a good merc indy and let him do his job.

On the other hand, many garages charge an hour's labour to plug in a code-reader and read the results. At my local Merc independent, that's £78 + VAT just to get to first base. I paid £120 for my code reader and I intend to get value for money. I'll show them the print-out so there's no question of mis-diagnosis. If they get offended, I'll just go somewhere else...
