Need info on changing fuel filter on a 308D Sprinter

Im about to do a fuel filter change on our mercedes 308D Sprinter ,

what im wondering is when i change the filter do i have to bleed the system or does it have a automatic air purge

some info would be of great help

There is no bleeding as such, Just fill up the new filter with fresh diesel to save cranking for ages and flattering the battery, posssibly damaging starter.
