Just picked up a c270 cdi estate. With the recent hot weather the speed at which the car cools has surprised me. Seems to take a long while to come down in temperature. If I turn the auto-off and put fans to max and temperature to minimum (it's the heatmatic I think - auto but with dials not lcd display) the air coming out doesn't seem to be what I would call icy cold. It's my first merc so not sure if this would be right? How can I check this to see if it's working or shall I just go back to the garage for them to check.

I wouldn't go to an MB dealer, I would go for an independent AC specialist.
Simple way to check is with the engine running have an able assistant switch the AC on & off whilst you look at the front right of the engine. If you can see the inner part of the compressor engaging and spinning then the AC should be working.

It would all still be under warranty so if there were any issues I'd expect them to sort it out. I'll try and check under the hood, but it's not my area of expertise.
