I have a 1994 Mercedes E320 station wagon, rear wheel drive, with failing rear struts. Mercedes wants an unbelievable price for these struts. Does anyone have a less expensive replacement suggestion for such struts? Please advise, Thanks!  Gregory Boyer

Need replacement struts

Simple answer-buy the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer's) struts! They are probably made by Bilstein or Boge, and can be obtained from several sources in the UK. However, you don't say where you are but you can certainly obtain the OEM parts in the US as well.

Bilstein/Boge actually make the struts for Mercedes, so by buying their struts direct, rather than their struts in a nice Mercedes box at 4 times the price, you will be saving a considerable sum.

Please contact me if you need addresses or names of OEM suppliers.
