I have a '92 Merc 190E (1.8 ) and have aquired a set of 18" amg replica alloys (aero 2's I think see pic) and I need to get them to fit my car (Tyre Size:225/40). Does anyone know how hard this would be to do? Will I have to get the arches rolled or is there a simpler way? I have seen many 190's on 18's so I know it is possible! Any help appreciated!!

assuming the offset is correct - not sure what the 190 uses they should fit straight in as the overall diameter of the tyre isn't going to change from the standard 195x65x15.

The ET or offset is going to be the crucial one here, remember the requirement changes along with the width of the wheel.

the wheel offset will be stamped on the rear of the rim somewhere a 2 digit number preceded by the letters ET.

Your standard wheels will have the same information or it will be in your owners handbook.

190's need an offset between ET32-37
Is the car lowered?
It can be done but a 190 on 18's on stock suspension looks kinda funny.
17's are more suited to the size of the car and you will have less problems with rubbing and will allow you to lower it.

As the wheels are AMG replicas they will be 8" wide- too wide for a standard arched 190.I was running 8x17's on stock suspension and I had to use 215/40 x 17 tyres on the front as they rubbed the bumper.

225/40 x 18 tyres are too tall a profile.If you want 18's, go for 215/35 x 18 tyres.

In short, lower your car and if you really want 18's use 7.5 x 18 wheels with 215/35 x 18 tyres and put up with the rubbing.
Sorry to be so down, but just telling it as it is
