Hi
got a new sl350. went on holiday for two weeks so parked the car up. when i restarted it, it would not go into reverse gear (needed about 30 seconds to think about it) and then the boot wouldnt open and the central locking failed! any ideas? does the car shut down to conserve battery power when it hasnt been started for a while? Has anyone had a similar experience?
thanks

I have got more details

Thanks

I'd be going with low battery power due to various electrical gizmos that don't fully shut down when parked up. If you generally do short journeys and use the roof a lot then the battery may have been depleted before you parked up. Remember, its all computer controlled so low current can have the strangest effects. May need a reset to bring everything back in line, there are ways to do this, but a quick visit to the dealer may be best.

This is caused by the battery control unit!! it measures the battery state and if it is below 11volts it turns off some of the consumers to make sure that you can start up!! just needs charging for a few hours!! Very common im afraid!!
