I think they'll sell loads of these.

    It's very pretty :)

Hi can I ask where you saw this car ? I didn't think the A Class's were here in the UK yet - and this is a RHD version !

I'm keen to see one in the flesh. Thanks.

    (BTW - I'm new here :))

This was at MBUK HQ in Milton Keynes, and welcome :)

It's unlocked and can be tried for size.

Not bad! The front end is a little too aggressive for me though!

Mixed emotions on this one actually as it reminds me of an Astra on steroids.
Not really the look I was expecting but will certainly appeal to a particular demographic.

Front end is nice... Not so keen on the rear though...

The look of it suggests a more sporty, aggressive posture so they look to be aiming it at a younger audience perhaps?
I wonder how much it would retail at in this guise?

Need to see one in the flesh but at this stage I think it's pretty ugly

The one pictured is the top of the range Engineered by AMG version, clearly distinguished by the red trim on front and rear bumpers. Also those alloys are exclusive to the "E-AMG" version.

    I like it !!!

Sat in one at the Grand Prix (E-AMG), really impressed with the whole car, looks great in that spec and is a good size, will sell well.

It does look like a Citroen DS3 from the rear 3/4 angle though

From conversations I've had, the dealers seem slightly nervous:

1 We're certainly going to lose most of the 'traditional' A-Class buyers, for whom ease of access, practicality etc was the big plus

2 How many young drivers have got £25k+ (decently specced) to spend on a new car, given how things are at the moment?

Will be interesting to see what happens.

Plenty of 1-series about so BMW should be concerned. The bulk of sales will be companies / leasing firms

I think both BMW and Audi missed a trick in the re-design of their facelift versions of the 1 Series and A3. The A Class looks much more fresher than either of those two models. Whether the drive and build quality will be up to scratch on the A Class remains to be seen. Have heard mixed reviews regarding quality of plastics and handling; the 7 speed DCT considered to be a bit slow to react on some reviews I've seen/read.

My Mother who is not very sporty or car mad says she would like one of these as she loves the looks when I showed her. She is getting on a bit and I was suprised she liked it. Currently she drives a B-Class but is looking to downgrade.

Personally, I think it looks fanatastic and is much better than the boxy old MPV-style old A-Class. I approve of my Mother's choices.

I like the new A class as well, Will be especially interested in the A45 AMG, its going to be a supercharged 2.0 liter engine making something silly like 350 bhp. Will be a big departure for standard amgs! (and 4wd!)
