The new C class w204 is doing its testing in North Sweden, its design is influenced by the CLS and S class. With a lower roof line and and longer wheel base, it will look more sporty. 4 matic will be an option. there will be the choice of 4,6 and 8 cylinder engines. I cant put up photo through copyright reasons, but as soon as a picture comes up, I will post it.

Yes,that is the one. Those pictures were all taken in Sweden. MB have a test center in the north of Sweden that operates 6 months of the year for testing artic conditions.

Well I have to say. I loved the old C (still do), but was never really a big fan of the look of the current C. However, the new one looks great. Might even tempt be to downsize next time, That shell, with the 185 odd bhp 2.0 Kompressor engine from the facelift E could be the best of both worlds.

Not sure about the estate as yet, like to see a rear 3/4's view.
Saloon looks good though.

No sign of a two-door version. Does anyone know, will that come later or are they just discontinuing it?

Variants always follow, and will be based on a 204.

Depends what you mean by two-door. There will be a CLK two-door coupe & cabriolet based on the next generation C-Class but there will not be a Sport Coupe.

Apparently there's also going to be some sort of half-hearted SUV version - something like a cross between a BMW X3 and an Audi All-Road.

There will be a small 4x4 like the BMW X3 based on the 204 C-Class platform. I don't see the comparison with the Audi All-Road.

Maybe not in this case,my MB dealer did not know that there was a new R230 with new engines until I told them. that was only three months from the launch. You cant win them all.

There are 2 possible options:

Option 1 - Most likely your dealer did not want to admit having any knowledge of the facelifted model when he still had pre-facelift stock to sell. The SL has had runout support for at least 9 months ahead the facelift models launch. It is inconceivable that the dealer was not aware, unless...

Option 2 - your dealer is particularly stupid.

I suppose the big news there is that it'll be built in Germany, rather than the US where the ML is built.

I think that had more to do with excess capacity at Bremen than any quality concerns.

Incidently all RHD 204 series C-Class will be made in Germany and not in South Africa where the W203 is made.

If you know so much, why don't you put the info up, rather than leaving it to an outsider like me: I did start the thread.
