Had my ‘new’ car delivered today, a 2017 e220d cabriolet from MB Portsmouth.
As an old duffer I have a sound knowledge of anything mechanical but this computerised car will baffle me and I’ll be reading the owner’s manual for months.
See photo. I have the dealers video but that will be boring.

Very nice, unusual colour and I’ll look out for it around south Hampshire once I can travel freely again.

Have you had the roof down yet. When I first had mine didn’t realise the flap or whatever it’s called in the boot had to be down to operate the roof

It'll be a long wait, I live in Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex! It's taken me most of the day to get the car taxed so not driven it yet. For reasons too complicated to explain I could not tax online only at a post office - long queues in pouring rain- armfuls of documents but eventually now legally taxed. Will be out for a drive tomorrow.

That'll be a lovely drive. When lockdown lifts, book two weeks off, and go round the coast of Italy :)

I used to own a 1970 1600E in the colour you are talking about, it was called Aubergine! :)

Ahh the Aubergine Astra mk2 GTE 16v was the car I was after in the early 90s. But could not find one for sale so I ended up with a gunmetal grey one

I've bought a personalised number plate. The front plate has four screws so easy enough to remove but the rear plate has no apparent fixings. Is it glued on, held by magnets or what? How do I remove it? Thanks.

Probably held on with double sided tape. Run a plastic blade up behind it and you should be able to force it off
