I have a E320CDi which has covered 47,000 miles, I bought it new and it has a FSH. The warranty expired in March 2003. A problem was identified with a fuel injector in May 2003. The fuel injector has damaged the cylinder head and MB recommend that a new cylinder head should be fitted. Major work was undertaken 2 years ago (under warranty) on the engine including replacing all the fuel injectors. Even though the warranty has expired I feel that MB should pay for the works. The fault was identified in May 2003 but in order to cause damage to the cylinder head it must have ocurred quite some time before this.
I would welcome your views

contact MB customer care at Milton Keynes. I'm sure they will at least help with the costs.

Use a diesel injector cleaner regularly to minimise the risk of this happening again.
