Having been driving around in her tired VW Polo, no air-con, i thought it was time to get Sam (other half) into a A.class.
Found a real cheap A170CDI on flea-bay, bid and won it, very cheap!
Having to drive to Northampton to visit it i took a chance. Well, to my surprise, we picked it up today! I really thought it was going to have hidden faults due to the price we won it for! No, she drove home perfect!!
When Sam first got in it, she looked really pleased and had that new car smile, the front tyre was low due to the car been sat a month, so we set of to find a garage to blow the tyres up, after a mile or two, her smile changed to a look of horror,
I thought at this time, she hates it!! after a short time we found a garage and blew the tyres up, well, after a quick chat, i knew i was right, she really wasn't getting on well with the baby Merc at all!!!
We then set off again for the 90 mile trip from Northampton to Southampton! Well, after a few miles of having to slow down for her, i thought to myself, i will pull over and let her drive the C,class home, she really didn't look like she was enjoying her new car!! I must admit i was a bit gutted but i know the baby Merc is not everybody's cup-of-tea!!
After a short time of driving around country lanes due to Silverstone holding an event, the look of horror was looking more like that smile again!!, We shot down the M40 and pulled into a service station for some food and a coffee, well, was i pleased when a very happy Sam jumped out of her new car with a smile from one side of her face to the other!! She confessed that she fell in love whilst driving the gorgeous country lanes of Oxfordshire. I offered to swap so that she could drive the C Class the rest of the way and that look of horror returned. There was no way she was parting with her beloved new baby benz!!!.
So, the Benz magic worked again, I guess the point of this thread is, we all moan about our cars when they play up! But its about driving a Merc that makes us happy, and we now have a new lover of the MB brand who now owns her very own MB (even if it is a baby Benz, she is totally smitten and calling herself Princess Sam)!
It was even better when we got home and found full service history and all the mots etc!!
