hi folks,

New to MB, got myself a 2013 c class c220 diesel just before Xmas, changed over from my alfa mito so very different lol just wanted to say hello and ask if there is anything to look out for (ie any common issues etc) and as it has a full MB service history, is it worth while continuing to take it to the dealer for a service or is an indy a better option?

Welcome, you'll love it!
These cars crave correct servicing and hate electrical spikes, that's about it really

Hi Aaron, welcome to the forum :) Alfa to Mercedes.........different world altogether, good move :)
you've hit the nail on the head! lol I enjoyed my little MiTo (even with all of it's little alfa gremlins lol) but I've always been a mercedes fan, and this one was a great find, 2013, 57k miles, one owner from new and had the full MB service history so that prompted the change lol

thanks John! the car had just been serviced when I bought it, and the service countdown thing on the dash states another one due in 180 days (or there abouts). one thing I have noticed is the eco start/stop doesn't seem to work, the eco just stays yellow the whole time, but im not fussed on start stop anyway so not a massive issue lol

I wouldn't be too bothered about that ! First thing most of us do is turn it off anyway. Puts unnecessary strain on mechanicals such as timing chain and so forth so no benefit there :(

As likely as not the battery will be down slightly so the system won't kick in
As you have a OM651 engine which is susceptible to cam chain failure then not having the stop-start system working is deemed a benefit.

thanks guys, I do usually turn it off anyway, my alfa had it too and I just find it a pain in the arse more than anything else so it not working is not a problem at all lol

Hello and welcome :)
We have had 3 Alfa's and all were not proper Alfa's because we had 3 years of trouble free motoring

Sorry cant help you on a manual box, had 6 MB's all autos.
But in over 50 years of motoring I have never changed the oil on a manual box.
