HI all,
In refreshing my 190E bodywork all up to "as new" I've needed to replace my originally dealer fitted Cosworth boot spoiler as it was cracked on the centre mounting points. Searched around for a 2nd hand one for a while (all had the same problem) then via the always incredibly helpful Matthew Tuckett at MB Chelsea spare parts division found another dealer that had a brand new one - negotiated a sale price of £162.50 inc' delivery (ouch....but down from list price of £450.00 +vat). Spoiler arrived with my bodyshop guy and he's unsure as to how they leave the factory, apparently there seems to be some sort of sealant but no information as to what it is. Apparently the new MB spoilers come pre-painted and BMW send all theirs out primed and ready for paint. Matthew contacted MB technical at Milton Keynes who couldn't or wouldn't provide any information, I have also called with the same result. Anyone have any ideas or know the best place to ask?
