C220 CDI 2013
Hi,
I have a 2013 C220 CDI…bought in November 21….it was back at the indie dealer (4th time) for a lower oil pan/sump replacement after the cracked the original when replacing engine mounts…since getting it back I am getting ‘check engine oil at next refuelling’ message as soon as car is at operating temp. I checked levels and if anything was high, covered upper orange marking on dipstick. I siphoned about 400ml out but still getting message. Could they have damaged the sensor during the recent work? Thanks

Welcome,

There is still a possibility that the engine is still overfilled I would remove another 0.5 litre my S210 was particularly sensitive to throw up the overfill warning even when overfilled by this small amount

Hi and welcome. A high engine oil level can also indicate a DPF issue. Additional fuel is injected into the cylinders during regen, and some of this can find its way into the sump, raising the level. This usually occurs when for some reason, it is frequently trying to regen. You need to get an OBD scan done to see how full the DPF is, just to set your mind at ease.
