Wanting to extend my garage before buying an SLK. How wide should it be to open driver’s door and enter/leave the vehicle, please

Hi and welcome.

I would always allow at least 2 ft wider than the car. You can get by with less if you can leave the window down (the top of the window curves inwards and reduces available space at the chest area).

So given the SLK is around 6ft wide an absolute minimum of 8ft but ideally 10ft to give room down the left side for getting the car in and out.

Well, if you are doing major surgery to the garage, I'd go for the max I could (within reason) ..... just in case later you succumb to an SL :)

Or of course you can go for both little and large ;-)
