I have been having trouble with my front passenger and rear offside windows - both are not working. I have checked the fuse but that seems fine, any idea's of how to rectify this problem?

Thanks in advance.

First check there is power at the switch . If you have power change over the switches from the windows that do work . If that does not work check for power at the motor in the door.
If you have no power here it might be a broken wire between the pillar and the door .

This is most definitely a fuse or relay problem, as the windows are paired front offside/rear nrside and front nrside/rear offside.

You say the fuse looks fine - have you actually removed and replaced it ? The fuses on the older Mercs are appaling and can have hairline cracks - so they appear to be fine but indeed are shot. Sometime they corrode or burn at the point where they clip onto the contact, so you can never see it.

I would definitely reccomend changing the fuse and then go from there.

There is also a relay for each pair of windows, standard SPDT relay, in the fusebox.

Same problem with my 88 230E at the moment. Took apart the rear motor/drive and found that the worm drive out of the motor was completely seized, so much so that the worm had disentegrated. Motor was fine just the worm seized. Idleness is worse than over use.
