Hi,

I'm new to this forum and new to Mercedes. I picked up a 2004 E320 yesterday, excellent condition, good service history, 150k miles. It's due a service, is there anything I should also get checked/done at the same time? Also can anyone recommend a good Mercedes specialist in Essex?

Welcome to the forum.
A good indy will follow the service schedule. I cant reiterate the need for a good indy. They are invaluable.
Gbox oil change is essential every 35k. at 15 years is also full coolant change - maybe a good time to change stat also (mb stats are not the best)

Alex Crow - stowmarket comes mentioned on the forum.

Paul Evans also.

Welcome, Richard, looks like a nice motor you've got there, and pics without being asked, brownie points already. :) :)

Hello Richard and welcome to the forum and the world of Mercedes. But, be warned, Mercedes ownership can become addictive!

That does, indeed, look a lovely car. @Wighty is from Essex so he may have other local recommendations.

Great choice of Mercedes, though I am a little tiny bit bias :)

Lovely looking car buddy , from a fellow E320cdi owner .
I use Alex Crow in Stowmarket as well .
There was a recent mention of a Williams MB specialist in Harold Wood ?
Depends where in Essex you are and how far you wish to travel as well .

Oi, hang on Wighty, yours is cdi, OP's is without cdi so not quite fellow owner, now if you said 'fellow w211 owner' then this would have been much more expectable :p
But seeing how you said 'Lovely looking car' I shall let you off!

Thanks all, I'm near Southend, so if anyone know of an indy around this area, that would be much appreciated. Only issue I found so far is that the sat nav thinks it's in the middle of the channel. I don't really plan of using it, given how old it is, but would be handy for back up.

Welcome, nice to see one of these in good clean shape as so many get abused and neglected as they age.

Outside of what’s been said I would consider taking a good look at the underside of the car and see what anti rust stuff you can pop on.

Hi,

Anyone know how much roughy it is to change engine and gearbox mounts, I've check through the service history and can't see any evidence of it being done? At idle the car in fine, but as you accelerate it's not a smooth as I would have expected, quite loud/harsh and can feel vibrations threw the floor. Not awful, but noticeable.
