Hi all,

Just joined the forum today and am taking delivery of a 2012 W212 E350 CDI Sport later this pm.

Been in BMW's mostly of late and still have one as my plaything but needed a good daily hence the W212 given its widely used as a taxi in many EU countries, hence my thoughts were that it would be a good daily mile muncher without the tantrums that BM's often throw.

Anything that I should watch out for on these vehicles?

Hello and welcome. Both your BMWs look as though they are good mile munchers as well!

Welcome had my 2011 E350CDI 8.5 years, only one minor fault in that time.

Thanks for the warm welcome

Yeah the other 2 are great too but the M5 attracts too much attention, cant really leave it in the poorly lit open to public town centre located train station car park or to do all the boring stuff like shopping etc...so it will be used for fun days and special occasions, the X5 is a very capable machine but wife sold her GLC recently (depositing the monies into her bank account) and has now taken possession of my X5 using it for work and all the daily duties that wives and mothers have...so I needed to go out and get another daily...hence the E350...still waiting for it to be delivered mind...

Thanks for the welcome - 8.5yrs without any major faults sounds great - fingers crossed it stays that way for you and mine exhibits the same reliability...

I did have a 2001 S Class before, it was about 5 years old when I bought it and drove it for 3 years, it was a great machine - only issue i had was the auto gear lever was stuck in park when i had gone out to get a takeaway once...that was repaired by an indy (wasnt cheap and had to wait for a PCB from Germany) but it was a great car whilst I had it, and for completeness the takeaway was stone cold by the time i got home after waiting for the recovery man....

Yes they are different, so your eyes are in better condition than you thought...but the rears are lower profile

The 19" AMG's are genuine, with Front Wheels being 8.5Jx19 ET48 wearing 245/35R19 rubber & Rear Wheels being 9.5Jx19 ET48 wearing 275/30R19 rubber

That's good, that's what I would expect, just looked like they were the wrong way around (lower profile on the front)- must be the photo angle....

Couple of pics - hope you all like it as much as i do...

Looks very nice - like the stance!

I used to have a 2001 w220 S500 aswell but didn't keep it long, (was made an offer I couldn't refuse - of which I deeply regret now). I had issues with PSE and Airmatic Pump which I both fixed myself.
The Stuck in Park is a common problem and it is down to a broken piece of plastic which can be removed or replace DIY. I'm surprised to hear that it needed a PCB - never heard that one....???

My old S Class:

Anyway, welcome and enjoy!
