W110 owner - 1962 190c. Unrestored and complete. Bought 10 years ago to stop someone turning it into a 'lowrider'. Parked in a barn and haven't touched it since due to the fuel pump breaking up and turning to powder, looked around for a spare (even in the 'States), but nothing available - lots more stuff on the internet now though.

Not as sought after as a 220 but it has a simple charm.

Soon be time to strip and rebuild - Wings, doors, sills, floors all need replacing - I think I will need to learn to weld!

Thank you all for your kind welcome.

I intend photographing the whole project from start to finish - so no spoilers!

(Well I might sneak one or two on here at the weekend....)

Would have made a great lowrider. Can see it now - hydraulics, tiny wires, flake paint, chrome engraved undercarriage, draylon red pleated interior- lovely. (only joking ;))

I know, that's what the last owner had in mind.

Sadly I didn't have the funds or time to do anything but buy and store it to stop them chopping the roof..etc. It's not a 220 and won't make its money back after restoration but I think it's important to try and save the 'simpler' cars...saw a Vauxhall Viva HC for sale the other day, forgotten what they looked like - everyone in classic circles went for the Firenza, but the humble 1970's Viva SL - mostly gone.

Ah yes Vivas. Took loads of front crossmembers off scrappers. They made good front ends for hot rodded Pops and the like. Great if you could find a van cos they came with discs on the front. Memories.
